
(UPDATE) The Provincial Board of Canvassers has declared the victorious candidates for Bulacan at the Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center in Malolos City, Bulacan on Tuesday.
Proclaimed among them were Governor Daniel Fernando and Vice Governor Alexis Castro, who achieved overwhelming wins over their competitors.
Fernando secured his third term as governor by defeating his political opponent Wilhelmino Sy-Alvarado.
On Monday, Fernando secured 1,177,893 votes whereas Alvarado obtained 227,194 and Salvador Violago got 226,204 votes. Additionally, he claimed victory with a significant lead over the previous governor in 2022.
Meanwhile, Castro garnered 1,360,020 votes, whereas Elmer Paguio obtained merely 154,644 votes.
Additionally announced on Tuesday were Representative Danny Domingo from the First District, Representative Tina Pancho from the Second District, Representative Cholo Violago from the Third District, Representative Salvador Pleyto from the Fourth District, and Representative Agatha Paula Cruz from the Fifth District.
The Provincial Board consists of Michael Aquino and Romina Fermin representing the First District; Erlene Dela Cruz and Dingdong Nicolas serving the Second District; Raul Mariano and RC Nono Catsro covering the Third District; Kat Hernandez and William Villarica advocating for the Fourth District; Ricky Roque and Cesar Mendoza working for the Fifth District; and Jay De Guzman along with Art Legaspi supporting the Sixth District.
Mona Ann Campos, who serves as the Provincial Election Supervisor and chairs the Provincial Board of Canvassers, headed the announcement of the victors.
Fernando and Castro thanked those who supported them in the polls and promised to continue serving the people of Bulacan.
For his third term in office, Fernando said the provincial government will focus on the flood problem in the province where preparations are underway to build a coastal road-flood control from Bataan to Manila.
Also included is the construction of an additional dam that will absorb excess water during the rainy season.
