
MANILA, Philippines — The Revilla clan is expected to secure positions as vice governor and in two congressional seats in Cavite.
As of 6:07 a.m., with 79.07% of election returns transmitted, Ram Revilla Bautista, son of Sen. Bong Revilla, is leading the Cavite vice gubernatorial race with 929,390 votes, according to Comelec's unofficial count.
Ram is running alongside Abeng Remulla, the son of Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla, who is expected to win the Cavite gubernatorial position.
Meanwhile, Bong's wife, actress and incumbent lawmaker Lani Mercado-Revilla, is also projected to win as representative of the province’s second district.
Both Ram and Lani ran without opposition in their individual contests. Lani obtained 137,588 votes from Cavite’s second district.
In contrast, Bong and Lani's son, Jolo Revilla, is expected to secure the position of representative for the first legislative district with 115,987 votes.
As of this report, with 80.25% of the vote count tallied, Senator Bong, who is seeking re-election, currently holds the 14th spot in the Senate race with 9,716,009 votes recorded so far.
Unofficial results indicate continued political success for the Revilla family, with several members expected to secure local and national posts.
Bong and Lani’s offspring are all part of the House of Representatives, where Jolo serves as the current legislator for the first legislative district, and Bryan Revilla represents the Agimat Party-list.
Bong's sibling, Strike Revilla, currently serves as the mayor of Bacoor, Cavite.
Remulla. Abeng is at the forefront of the gubernatorial race with 836,748 votes, trailed by Weng Aguinaldo with 210,874 votes and Agusto Pera Jr. with 47,457 votes.
In 2023, the National Unity Party selected Abeng to join their board following his brother, Crispin Diego "Ping" Remulla, winning the special election for Cavite’s 7th District—a position formerly occupied by their father, Jesus Crispin, who became justice secretary in 2022.
Cavite Province stands out as a significant voting area in the Philippines, boasting 2,447,362 registered voters estimated for the year 2025.
