The situation with Sesko is more serene by comparison with his agent Elvis Basanovic insisting there will be no attempts to engineer a move away from Leipzig.

When asked about reports suggesting he is urging RB Leipzig to reduce their asking price, Basanovic stated Give Me Sport: ‘This is far from truth! We respect RB Leipzig and I am 100% convinced RB Leipzig will also respect our decision for the next step when we decide to do it.

'Although there might be—or could become—a powerful wish from the athlete to transfer to a specific team, we will certainly not compel or pressure RB Leipzig.'

‘I believe this is not the right way, because the way you actually exit from the club shows your values. Values that you are bringing into a new club.

‘I can understand in very big transfers, there are a lot of different interests but no matter what, I believe in football world should be more respect.

'That’s why we either follow the correct procedure or choose not to proceed at all. It’s quite straightforward, despite how complex it might appear in the media.'

Basanovic went so far as to suggest that Sesko might opt to stay in Germany if he doesn’t receive an appropriate proposal from a suitable club this summer.

'His statistics for someone of his age relative to strikers who have already had impressive careers at this stage support what I'm saying. He will leave RB Leipzig solely when we identify a unique club, an exceptional project alongside a distinctive coach.'

When asked about when a move might occur, he responded: "It could be as soon as next week... or perhaps not until next year, or even in three years."

Manchester United also have long-standing interest in Sesko with Ruben Amorim eager to sign a striker this summer.

Liam Delap rejected a move to Old Trafford to instead join Chelsea with Gyokeres’ repreenatives also informing United he is not interested in a move.

We will have to wait and see if Sesko would opt for the red side of Manchester, considering the absence of European football next year.
