Paris Saint-Germain is already gearing up for what comes next following Gianluigi Donnarumma’s potential departure. As negotiations stall with no sign of an extended contract and only twelve months remaining on his current deal, the expectation is that the Italian shot-stopper will depart at the end of the season.
Leading teams such as Real Madrid, Manchester United, Manchester City, and Bayern Munich are said to be showing interest. Le Parisien PSG has pinpointed Lucas Chevalier as their top choice to take over the position.
The 23-year-old goalkeeper from Lille, who played in 48 matches during the recent season, has caught PSG’s attention over several months. Nevertheless, the Ligue 1 club is asking for €70 million for their key keeper — who is currently France’s second-choice goalie following Maignan.
It’s a challenging situation, however, PSG still hasn’t thrown in the towel. Should Donnarumma leave, the Chevalier transfer might pick up speed rapidly.
