India Stunned: Star Left-Arm Spinner Out of England Tour; Young Gun Steps In as Replacement

Radha Yadav, an Indian left-arm spin bowler, has taken over Shuchi Upadhyay's spot in the national women’s team due to Upadhyay's injury. The team, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, will be competing in a five-game T20I series and then a three-match ODI series against England starting June 28th.

In a statement, the Board of Control for Cricket in India announced that the 20-year-old left-arm spin bowler Upadhyay, who played her first One Day International match last month during the tri-series in Sri Lanka, has suffered a left shin injury.

"The Women's Selection Committee has appointed Radha Yadav as a substitute for Shuchi Upadhyay in Team India's squads for the upcoming England series," stated the BCCI.

"Shuchi was excluded from the tour following a left shin injury sustained before departure, as confirmed during the pre-tour training session held at the BCCI Center of Excellence (COE) in Bengaluru," the statement read.

The women's squad kicks off their tour with the first T20 International on June 28 in Nottingham, followed by the second game scheduled for July 1 in Bristol.
