Man Hospitalized After One Bite of World’s Hottest Curry in Shocking Medical Emergency Footage

A video went viral showing the frightening consequences of an intense spicy food contest where a young man almost fainted after consuming merely a piece of what’s known as the ‘hottest curry in the world.’

The video, which has been watched over six million times on X, captures the man—who is identified solely as Daniel—dashing out of the eatery shortly after tasting the meal.

He was later discovered lying on the sidewalk outside, without his shirt and evidently struggling with the impact of the spicy curry.

The cuisine can be enjoyed at The Bengal Village in the eastern part of town. London , where employees tried to calm him down.

The restaurant's owner, Mr Raj, is observed reassuring Daniel that he will soon get better, and encouraging him to have a mango lassi.

Mr Raj stated in the video: "I assure you everything will be okay; you have ten minutes for recovery. That mango lassi will set you right."

It will soothe your internal organs, particularly your liver and throat. Though I'm not a medical professional, please hear me out and consider having this beverage.

The curry priced at £22 is crafted using an intricate blend of uncommon and strong spices. The proprietors claim that the ingredients for this dish amount to £50.

Customers who can complete the full course within 15 minutes get a complimentary meal for everyone at their table.

However, a caution on the restaurant's website states: "We do not assume liability for any subsequent impacts."

Hot cuisine may lead to discomfort because of capsaicin, which is the primary component found in chili peppers.

Upon consumption, capsaicin attaches to receptors in the mouth, esophagus, and stomach lining, inducing a burning feeling. Stimulating these pain sensors may cause the body to produce endorphins, offering some short-term analgesia.

Nevertheless, it could also result in unpleasant side effects like stomach pain, queasiness, throwing up, migraines, and excessive perspiration.

Dr. Capin, an emergency medical practitioner based in Florida, told the Cleveland Clinic that certain individuals have higher sensitivity levels compared to others.

He stated: "Certain individuals inherently possess greater tolerance towards spiciness due to their genetic makeup. These people are simply endowed with a lesser number of capsaicin receptors, granting them an innate resistance to fiery flavors."

The physician mentioned that consuming an excess of very spicy foods could potentially lead to fatalities in some uncommon instances.

"The spiciest peppers, such as ghost peppers, could theoretically be lethal, but this scenario is extremely improbable," explains Dr. Capin.

'You'd need to consume an enormous quantity for that. To illustrate, if you weigh about 150 pounds, eating around 3 pounds of ghost peppers could lead to a fatal response.'

This development follows a comparable occurrence at the same East London curry house mere weeks prior.

Video snippets displayed patrons at Bengal Village coughing and reaching for breath, while staff offered them water, mango lassis, and even ice cream as they tackled the infamous curry challenge.

Co-owner Mohamed Ahmed stated back then: "Beforehand, we serve them chilled mango lassi. Afterward, we provide them with more mango lassi."

We understand how to help them recuperate faster when they are experiencing discomfort.

'We also offer them ice cream and Indian yogurt. Clearly better than just water. I’ve observed people mixing it with carbonated beverages, beer, which isn’t good.'

We don’t suggest how to proceed; instead, we allow everybody to act according to their preferences. However, if one of my team members needed to handle this task—which will likely feature in my upcoming video—I’d offer them chilled milk as an accompaniment.

This dish includes 72 chillies—most of which cannot be found outside of Bangladesh.

"In terms of Scoville Units [which measures how spicy something is], the spiciest chilli globally is, as far as I know, the Pepper X, with the Carolina Reaper coming in at number two," he stated.

But that’s how people see things. My family hails from Bangladesh and they’re familiar with specific plants and chili varieties that haven’t been found by the rest of the world yet. Those might be known soon enough...

He stated: "We’re operating at a loss with the curry since the cost to prepare it exceeds £21.95 due to the variety of chilies used."

We need to chop it all up and then incorporate the chicken along with the gravy, everything.
