Manchester City are poised to ink Rosenborg midfielder Sverre Nypan following the agreement of a £12.5 million deal for him.

The signing of this 18-year-old talent will be a significant triumph for City, who have emerged victorious in recent matches. Premier League rivals Arsenal and Aston Villa to his signature.

He will be the club's fifth acquisition this summer after the signings of Marcus Bettinelli, Rayan Ait-Nouri, Rayan Cherki, and Tijjani Reijnders.

The teenager is anticipated to be sent out on loan to Girona once they join. Pep Guardiola 's side.

The City Group initially suggested signing Nypan permanently for Girona in January, leading the Norwegian international to contemplate joining Villa instead. However, City has since modified their proposal.

Nypan has already featured in 70 senior matches for Rosenborg, which currently holds the third position in the 2025 Eliteserien following 11 fixtures. Additionally, he represents Norway at the U-21 level.
