Prince Harry Plans Olive Branch: Invites King and Prince William to Invictus Games

The Duke of Sussex is aimed at offering an olive branch to the Royal Family By inviting them to the 2027 Invictus Games, as The Mail on Sunday discloses,

The clearest sign so far that Prince Harry is eager for a reunion with the King and other high-ranking members of the royal family indicates that an email invite will be dispatched later this month, succeeded by an official invitation.

According to sources, the timing of the invitation was carefully planned to maximize the likelihood of the family’s attendance, considering that Prince Charles is renowned for organizing his calendar as far ahead as three years.

However, this exceptional move, which might show Harry alongside the Royal Family for the first time since the late Queen’s funeral, has sparked surprise among certain pundits.

Ingrid Seward mentioned, "The King could make an appearance to demonstrate backing for the Armed Forces and to felicitate Harry on what marks the biggest achievement in his life."

The sole reason the King hesitates to be seen with his son is because he no longer believes that he won’t share their confidential discussions publicly, just like he did previously. This applies to every member actively involved in the family affairs.

Katie Nicholl, another royal observer, mentioned: "The King definitely desires a connection with his youngest son as well as with his grandchildren."

He possesses an extraordinary ability to forgive and wishes to show great generosity throughout this situation; thus, there’s definitely a chance that the King may decide to attend Invictus.

Even though the Royals have strongly backed Invictus before, this particular invite — if someone decides to take it up — might create some challenges for their staff due to significant timing overlaps.

The games are scheduled to commence at Birmingham’s NEC on July 12, 2027, and they will wrap up on July 17 – coinciding with Queen Camilla’s 80th birthday when festivities are expected to already be underway.

It still needs to be determined if the Duke will bring Meghan and their children, Archie who is six, and four-year-old Lilibet, to the UK for this occasion. Previously, he stated that he couldn’t come unless his family was granted ‘complete police protection’.

A source informed The Mail on Sunday that Harry has consented for Invictus to offer an invitation to his family,

'Invictus wishes for the Royal Family’s presence to cheer on injured veterans participating. Prince Harry anticipates that despite past disagreements, his father might agree to attend the InvICTUS Games and back the veterans.'

The royal family has consistently shown great support for Invictus and they take pride in Harry’s accomplishments within this field. This could potentially be seen as an olive branch from his side that may receive a reciprocal response.

Harry, aged 40, stated unequivocally in a recent BBC interview that he would be open to reconciling with his father and the broader family, even though he recognised the pain brought about by his candid autobiography, Spare.

There’s no reason to keep fighting anymore," he stated. "Life is invaluable." He further commented, " Forgiveness holds a hundred percent potential as I wish to reunite with my father and brother.

The Invictus invitations are believed to mark the first instance where Harry has openly attempted to bring his family together.

It is reported that both the guests and the invitation texts were endorsed by Harry, and these email notifications were directed to the private secretaries working at the Palace.

The event is anticipated to deliver substantial economic and social advantages to Birmingham.

A spokesman for Invictus said: 'No formal invitations have been issued as preparations are in the early stages.'
