Shabana Azmi posted an image on Instagram featuring Nandita Das and Deepa Mehta, the director of "Fire." All three appeared dressed in black outfits. According to her caption, Shabana mentioned that "Fire" originally concluded differently but retained the ending showcased in the movie following Farhan Akhtar’s advice.

Aside from that, the movie was initially filmed in Hindi; however, with producer Bobby Singh’s consent, they ultimately chose to release it in English instead. Shabana revealed this intriguing fact via an Instagram post.
The actress penned, "The #Fire trilogy! After 25 years, the movie remains a benchmark globally. Many aren't aware that it initially featured a distinct conclusion. It was the youthful @faroutakhtar who suggested altering the ending to what we see today.. Additionally, it was first planned as an Indian-language production; however, the dialogues lacked authenticity. Thus, just two days prior to filming, #Deepa Mehta opted for the original English version with significant endorsement from producer #Bobby Bedi. Thankfully, the cast’s bilingual abilities enabled them to meet this unexpected challenge!"
The film "Fire" was showcased at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 1996. Later, it hit theaters in India in November of the same year. The movie featured notable actors such as Shabana Azmi, Smita Patil, Lillete Dubey, Rohini Hattangadi along with Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Javed Jaffrey, Dilip Mehta, Vinay Pathak, Ranjit Chowdhry, and more in significant parts.
