The Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) has made an announcement regarding a public auction of confiscated goods.

KWS is giving Kenyans an opportunity to purchase second-hand cars, bikes, scrap metal, and various other pre-owned items.
At which place does the KWS auction take place?
As stated in a notification issued by KWS with reference code KWS/DC/46/2024–2025, the auctions will be held across two locations in July of this year.
The inaugural auction is scheduled for Tuesday, July 22, 2025, taking place at Tsavo East National Park in Voi, beginning promptly at 9:30 AM.
Among the items up for auction are automobiles, bikes, various new and second-hand tires, recycled steel, along with additional goods.
The second sale is scheduled for Friday, 25th July 2025, at the Central Workshop located along Magadi Road in Nairobi, starting again at 9:30 AM. Attendees will be able to bid on various goods including cars, motorcycle accessories, replacement components, power generators, and more.
Eligibility requirements for participating in the evaluation
Potential buyers must inspect the items prior to placing bids and complete registration to receive a bidder’s ID following payment of a non-refundable fee of KSh 10,000 through M-Pesa or a direct bank transfer.
Successful bidders must pay a 10% deposit when the auctioneer’s hammer falls and settle the remaining amount within seven days.
KWS has stressed that every lot will be auctioned strictly "as-is-where-is," advising potential buyers to inspect the condition of each item prior to bidding.
KWS cautioned that any items retrieved more than two weeks following the auction would incur a daily charge of KSh 500 for storage and security until they are picked up.
