Chelsea Make Move for Alejandro Garnacho as Man Utd Sets Price Tag

Chelsea are ready to revive their interest in Alejandro Garnacho this summer after Manchester United set their asking price for the winger.

The Blues showed interest in recruiting Garnacho during the January transfer period but failed to reach an agreement with United.

Garnacho was one of United’s most exciting players just a years ago but his form has fallen away recently, hence the Manchester giants exploring the possibility of a sale.

The Red Devils were open to offers for Garnacho in January and will once again entertain bids this summer as they look to raise funds for Ruben Amorim ’s transfer kitty.

Given the interest in Garnacho from the likes of Chelsea and Napoli, United want ‘at least £65m’ for the Argentine, according to the Daily Star .

"When there's room to operate, Alejandro Garnacho can become truly menacing," Ferdinand said. TNT Sports .

‘Yes, he needs to work on that end product but he’s still a young and improving player so that will come. Stick with him. I believe Manchester United should stick with him.’

'Is it the right time for Garnacho to exit Man Utd?'

However, Bacary Sagna, the ex-Arsenal and Manchester City defender, believes it is the 'perfect timing' for Garnacho to explore a new team .

‘I think it’s the right time for Alejandro Garnacho to move on,’ he recently said. ‘He started well but he is at a stage where he needs to be playing more consistently.

'It doesn't feel appropriate for him to be at Manchester United. The backline is getting older — perhaps consider bringing in more youthful and energetic players.'

Garnacho shone despite Manchester United's loss

Speaking after the Brentford defeat, Amorim said: ‘I think it’s stressful to lose games. [But] when we’re fighting for a title it’s not stressful.

‘I have no doubts that we are playing better and we are understanding the way we play, even in this context.

‘So we have to take all the hits in this moment. We are losing games in the Premier League, but we are fighting for the Europa League so we need to accept that and to think about Thursday now, which is the most important game for us.’
