The left-back started Arsenal's FA Cup final triumph over Chelsea In August 2020, this was delayed due to Covid-19 pandemic.
Nevertheless, even though he was initially signed as the primary choice for left-back, Tierney experienced a series of injuries which led to him playing much less frequently due to difficulties maintaining his fitness.
In 2022, Arteta brought aboard Oleksandr Zinchenko from the perennial champions Manchester City Before once more bolstering his choices in that position with the additions of Riccardo Calafiori and Jurrien Timber, both of whom can also operate as right backs.

In this campaign, Tierney has found himself lower in the pecking order once more due to the rise of promising young player Myles Lewis-Skelly, who stood out as one of Arsenal’s most impressive talents this season.
The 28-year-old player, after starting the season hampered by a hamstring injury but fully recovering by November, concluded his season ideally on the last day. He scored Arsenal’s opening goal as they secured a 2-1 victory against Southampton.

The posting, shared through the team’s official account on X, came with the caption, "I wish I were in Glasgow," accompanied by a musical note and a green heart emoji.
Even though the Scottish club is thrilled about Tierney's storybook comeback, his removal from the national team on Sunday may raise some worries.
Tierney, along with Napoli's Scott McTominay, had to withdraw from Scotland's match against Liechtenstein on Tuesday due to injuries.
Before the game, Scotland manager Steve Clarke commented, "Both Scott and Kieran joined the training camp with minor concerns leftover from the season. If we'd had more time between matches, they might have been able to participate, but for these players, this marks the conclusion of their season."
‘The most important thing is to have a good rest over the summer and come back flying in the autumn.’
