Netflix's Top-Charts Climber: Malaysian Drama Crowned Ultimate Revenge Series

Netflix 'S latest South Korean revenge thriller, Mercy For None, is already receiving acclaim from viewers.

This seven-part series revolves around a 'ex-gang member' who 'reenters the criminal world' following the murder of his sibling, driven by 'ambition, power, and vengeance'.

The summary goes on to say: 'Gi-Jun (So Ji-Sub), who has been in hiding for more than ten years after leaving the criminal world, returns to the mafia circuit seeking vengeance against all those implicated in his brother's killing.'

The series is inspired by the webtoon "Plaza Wars: Mercy for None" created by O Se-hyung and Kim Gyun-tae, and has been brought to life onscreen through adaptation by Yoo Ki-seong.

It has undoubtedly left a mark on enthusiastic audiences, rocketing into the top 10 television series on Netflix this week—meanwhile, the positive feedback mirrors its deserved acclaim.

'From intense close-quarters fighting to brandishing his iconic baseball bat and excelling in sword battles, bones snap, bodies soar through the air, and blood drenches the lairs of numerous antagonists. Thus, So Ji-Sub puts forth a stunning display that raises the bar for action narratives.'

‘Mercy for None lands its blood-soaked action sequences and sufficiently surprising plotting to stay engaging,’ Google reviewer Gunta Sharmila shared.

'This is the first time in quite some time that I've genuinely relished an action-packed series, and Mercy for None surpassed all of my expectations. From start to finish, it offers a captivating and deeply emotional journey that transcends the usual revenge storyline,' Jahazeel Ramos concurred.

'The best revenge show up till now! Being a fan of the thriller action category, I devoured it all in one go. I most certainly endorse this,' said Shejal Ray.

On platform X, user kdramamiss posted: 'Mercy For None was an incredible journey—a highly thrilling, rapidly moving story filled with blood-pumping action sequences and exceptional acting from all the performers. The wild and fierce combat scenes were top-notch!'

'It’s as though I'm viewing a Korean adaptation of John Wick, yet I adore the intense fight scenes, all the bloodshed, and the theme of vengeance! To be honest, I am enjoying every moment of it,' stated te3_tia.

This is not the first South Korean revenge thriller to receive particular notice from the streaming platform.

Earlier this year, enthusiasts were buzzing about the K-drama Karma , which depicted the 'entangled existence of six people' caught in a 'cycle of vengeance'.

If you're searching for your next taste of vengeance, consider watching Mercy For None.

"Mercy For None" is now available for streaming on Netflix.
