Beauty Parlors in Bukit Bintang Among Illegally Operating Businesses Shut Down in Kuala Lumpur

Eight businesses operating without proper licenses were shut down in Bukit Bintang and Selayang over the past week.

These two operations were part of DBKL's increased efforts in law enforcement.

DBKL stated that as part of their operation, six beauty salons located within a shopping complex in Bukit Bintang were instructed to shut down right away.

In addition to running without proper business licenses, numerous establishments were said to be overseen by non-citizens.

The operation, based on public complaints and intelligence gathering, resulted in 13 compound notices being issued for various offences under local by-laws.

In Selayang, the DBKL crackdown resulted in the shutdown of two businesses that were functioning without permits and were being run by non-citizens.

This collaborative initiative involved the police force, Immigration Department, National Water Services Commission, and Tenaga Nasional Bhd.

DBKL also handed out 24 compound fines and 30 enforcement notices for different violations and removed unauthorized dividers set up within the property.

On May 31, as part of a coordinated effort, DBKL teamed up with the police, NationalAnti-DrugAgency (AADK), FederalTerritoryIslamicReligiousDepartment (Jawi), and the Immigration Department to target entertainment venues.

A premise located in Jalan Kelang Lama, Kuala Lumpur, was discovered to be functioning without the necessary entertainment license.

Objects linked to amusement activities on site were confiscated.

A another venue for entertainment in Jalan Imbi was discovered to be operational beyond the allowed time.

In a coordinated effort, the Immigration Department apprehended 27 foreigners, whereas AADK arrested 19 individuals for additional scrutiny following positive outcomes from drug screenings.
