Beloved German Shepherd Nova's Heartbreaking Final Moments Before Tragic Alligator Attack in Singapore

A cherished family pet was tragically killed by a ferocious alligator in South Carolina, with its last moments captured on their doorstep security camera.

Bob Carnes, who lives in Myrtle Beach, mentioned that their beautiful black German Shepherd named Nova used to enjoy hanging out on the dock and splashing around in the water.

Nevertheless, she took a swim on Sunday and did not return. Carnes mentioned that his family searched for hours for Nova after she vanished from their backyard.

Unable to locate their cherished pet, they reviewed their Ring doorbell footage only to be shocked at what they discovered.

The video footage captures Nova exploring their backyard and heading toward the edge of the Intracoastal Waterway.

Seconds after she disappears into the water with a splash, a heart-wrenching yelp can be heard as she encountered the predator lurking beneath the surface.

Carnes mentioned that viewing the footage was 'challenging,' and it validated their darkest concerns.

"We believed perhaps she had run up the street and gotten hurt, but that wasn’t the situation," he said to the NBC affiliate. WMBF-TV .

We viewed the clip, and it was crystal clear what transpired. She vanished within seconds.

Carnes mentioned that Nova had been part of his family for six years, and she enjoyed spending time with her best buddy in the water – a duck.

She was simply an excellent dog. Incredible really. A wonderful pet for the children and other animals alike. Always brimming with vitality.

Carnes mentioned that Nova typically wore a GPS collar to prevent her from getting too near the water, but some parts of her collar were damaged.

He is currently informing his neighbors about the assertive alligators, cautioning that if these creatures could potentially assault his robust 85-pound dog, then they could pose a threat to anybody.

'Carnes mentioned that she is quicker and heavier compared to both his grandson and granddaughter.'

'It's crucial for them to be extremely cautious when allowing their children near that waterway. Even though it might seem harmless as the kids play close to the water, accidents can occur incredibly quickly.'

The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources reported that alligators have been responsible for four fatalities over the past five years, with one incident occurring near the Myrtle Beach area involving a male victim.

A 61-year-old woman from Florida named Cynthia Diekema was as well recently died due to an attack by an alligator when she was out paddling with her spouse.

Authorities disclosed that the couple’s 14-foot canoe was floating through only two feet of water at Kissimmee State Park in Florida when the alligator attacked.

The canoe capsized, leading to Cynthia falling right onto the creature, resulting in it attacking her.

His courageous spouse, Dave Diekema, attempted to fend off the alligator but failed to rescue his dear wife—and he had to witness it carry away her inert form.

Emergency services hurried to the location shortly after 4 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered Cynthia’s body in the water. Despite efforts to revive her, she was declared deceased at the site.
