GILAS Pilipinas will begin its training sessions every Monday starting from July 7 as part of their preparations for the FIBA Asia Cup 2025.
After Sunday's Game 3 of the PBA Philippine Cup semifinal match between Barangay Ginebra and San Miguel, head coach Tim Cone announced the starting date.

A few weeks back, Cone disclosed during the Power and Play segment that Gilas' initial practice session will commence this coming Monday, June 30.

However, sources stated that the national squad wouldn't be fully assembled if practices started this Monday, June 30, mainly due to several overseas-based athletes who are still in their off-season.
Justin Brownlee, who plays for Gilas Pilipinas as a naturalized athlete, hasn't made his way to the Philippines yet; however, he is expected to arrive shortly, sources say.
Despite this, the practice session scheduled for July 7 still comes much sooner than the originally planned last week of July, which was initially intended as a starting point for the Philippines' preparation for the Asia Cup. The tournament is set to take place from August 5 to 17 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
A farewell match involving the Macau Black Bears, potentially at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, has already been scheduled.
