When Michael Tjendara found out that the gadget was located at the same hotel as where the airline staff were residing, he became utterly desperate. The cabin crew members of Garuda Indonesia flight GA716 had been grounded.
Tjendara posted a sequence of screen captures from the "Find My iPhone" application on his Instagram account, indicating that the device was located at the Mercure Hotel, which is said to be where the team members were lodging.
Soon afterward, the mobile phone was moved elsewhere, however, the passenger succeeded in tracing it to a bridge. It is suspected that the individual who seized the gadget tossed it into the water from there.
"My mobile device was taken from me during Garuda Indonesia flight GA716 ( Jakarta-Melbourne, June 6, 2025)," noted Tjendara, who was on board with his spouse and their two young kids.
"My phone was kept in the seat pocket, however, upon landing it had vanished," he went on to say.
"This isn't about the worth of the phone; it's about ensuring safety and trust for all passengers on every flight, particularly when using a national carrier," Tjendara expressed emotively.
The Director of Commercial and Cargo at Garuda Indonesia, Ade R. Susardi, stated in an official release that Garuda Indonesia is dedicated to supporting the passengers impacted by this issue through every step of the procedure.
