Former Arsenal Star and Dutch national team captain Giovanni van Bronckhorst has signed with... Liverpool as Arne Slot 's assistant coach.
Despite romping to the Premier League Since taking charge in April, Slot has managed a significant overhaul within Liverpool’s backroom team during the summer months, aiming to rejuvenate the squad for the upcoming season.
In addition to securing signings from Bayer Leverkusen such as star player Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz Liverpool has since named Van Bronckhorst as Slot’s assistant manager.
The man aged 50, who has been overseeing Rangers Besiktas and Feyenoord players will link up with Liverpool pending their respective work permit approvals, stepping into the shoes of John Heitinga, who has moved to take charge as manager of Ajax.
The ex-left back is making his way back to the Premier League, having previously played for Arsenal over two seasons under... Arsene Wenger Winning the championship title back in 2002.
However, the Dutch player, who earned 106 caps over a 17-year international career, is best recalled for his time with Barcelona .



He stepped down from playing following his appearance in the 2010 World Cup Final, later transitioning into coaching starting with a position at Feyenoord’s academy, the same club where he concluded his professional football career.
Van Bronckhorst claimed victory in the Eredivisie in 2017 along with securing two Dutch domestic cup titles prior to his move to the Chinese club Guangzhou City FC.
He subsequently led Rangers to the Europa League final but was sacked in November 2022.
Liverpool's newly appointed assistant manager was let go by Besiktas following only five months in charge back in December and has now taken up a role as an analyst for UEFA.
At the same time, Xavi Valero returns to Liverpool as the lead coach for first-team goalkeepers after spending seven years at West Ham United.
The Spanish manager first linked up with the Reds during Rafael Benítez’s tenure in 2007, and continued working alongside him at Chelsea, Real Madrid, Inter Milan, and Napoli.



Although goalkeeper coaches Fabian Otte and Claudio Taffarel are departing from Merseyside.
Otte's sole season leading the first-team goalkeeper department coincided with Liverpool securing the league title, while Brazilian icon Taffarel leaves following four seasons at the club.
