Cavite State U Grads Shine at UAP Dubai Design Awards

Two architecture alumni from the College of Engineering and Information Technology at Cavite State University (CvSU-CEIT) received the Student Thesis Project Award of Merit during the 2025 UAP Dubai Design Awards, according to Dean Willie Buclatin of CvSU-CEIT.

Authored by Maria Lucille Faustino and Jho-Ar Rupido, the dissertation is entitled "Unboxed 360: A Non-Enclosed Biocontainment Facility Concept for the Philippine Center for Disease Control and Prevention (PH CDC), Combined with a Vertical Medical Park."

This project offers a daring and creative redesign of the medical infrastructure landscape in the Philippines—combining effective public health operations with eco-friendly architecture. It showcases an advanced vision for developing resilient and forward-thinking healthcare spaces.

International acknowledgment underscores the expanding worldwide impact of CvSU's architecture alumni, while setting higher standards for leveraging design research as a means to enhance societal welfare and contribute to national progress.

The UAP Design Awards 2025 is an elegant evening event featuring formal attire and a red carpet entrance, hosted by the Dubai chapter of the United Architects of the Philippines. This gathering celebrates a vibrant group of Filipino architects dedicated to promoting architectural ingenuity, creative vision, and superior design standards throughout the area.

More than 200 architects, jurors, and specially invited guests from the Middle East and around the world attended the gathering. This event serves as a venue for building professional connections and recognizing exceptional talent across different fields of creativity.

The funds raised at this event will go toward supporting a public school initiative in the Philippines.

During its inaugural run, it distributed donated items to Barangay Tibag in Bulacan.
