Mohamed Salah is set to make history as Liverpool ’s main man insisted he has never been happier during eight years at Anfield.
The Egyptian international received the Footballer of the Year award from the Football Writers Association for the third time due to his exceptional contribution in aiding Liverpool secure victory. Premier League .
Salah needs two goal involvements in Liverpool’s final home game against Crystal Palace to set a Premier League record.
He already has the best tally for a 38-game campaign but he can surpass the tally of 47, which is currently held by Andy Cole and Alan Shearer .
They posted their remarkable figures in a 42-game season – Cole got to that tally in 1993-94 and Shearer emulated him 12 months later when he led Blackburn Rovers to the title.
Few would bet against Salah getting the numbers he needs on the afternoon Liverpool will receive the trophy.

But, at the back of his mind, he is already looking to the future and possibly outstripping Thierry Henry, the only other to win the FWA award three times.
Salah set aside some preparation time to personally collect the trophy at the Landmark Hotel, just like Alessio Russo, the Arsenal forward aiming to assist her team in securing victory in the Women’s Champions League on Saturday in Lisbon.
'It signifies a great deal to receive this award,' stated Salah, who had been honored earlier in both 2018 and 2022.
'It’s amazing to witness all these names, and it feels incredibly special. I’m here due to our victory in the Premier League, where my contributions made an impact on the team.'
'The day we beat Tottenham, seriously, I've never been happier. The celebration after winning was incredible. However, my main aim now is to score the most goals and provide the most assists!'
At the beginning of the season, I was curious about how things would turn out. We had lost a talented manager along with some amazing players, so I wasn’t sure if we could maintain our success. However, we put in a lot of effort and executed our tasks exceptionally well.
‘We have got a good group of players and a very good manager. We started the season well and we took it on to win the Premier League again.
I hope to return here during the next season. My aim is to clinch the Premier League once more and triumph in the Champions League again.

Salah got his award handed over by Ian Rush, who holds the record as Liverpool's top goalscorer ever.
Some believe his total of 346 may face challenges — including Rush himself, who stated, "who knows what might occur in the coming two years" — however, this seems unlikely.
‘I said to this guy “were you playing football when it was five against five or six versus six!”,’ said Salah, who has a close relationship with the Welshman.
'His actions were incredible. I believe this achievement will stand for eternity.'
